A new restaurant operator to take over Paasitorni restaurants

The changes to the restaurant operations are part of the Paasitorni meeting and event venue’s extensive development work carried out over the last few years, where the entire building from the basement to the top of the tower has been brought to new heights.

At the beginning of July, the operations of all Paasitorni restaurants will be transferred to Restel’s Food&Events Tapahtumaravintolat. The package includes Paasiravintola, which is responsible for catering for events in Paasitorni, Paasin Kellari, which is available for functions, the Juttutupa bar and restaurant, the Meripaviljonki floating restaurant on Eläintarhanlahti, and the Graniittilinna restaurant. Graniittiravintolat Oy was previously responsible for the operation of these restaurants.

New opportunities for Paasitorni’s customers

The new restaurateur invests especially in catering for events, and changes will take place in the restaurant operations.

“Paasitorni has always been a versatile meeting place, and we believe that the reform of the restaurant operations will bring even more opportunities in this regard,” says Anu Penttilä, Chief Commercial Officer of Paasitorni. She also extends her thanks to Graniittiravintolat Oy, Paasitorni’s former restaurant partner, for good long-term collaboration.

Changes will be seen and tasted

“We will bring a renewed food offering to Paasitorni, highlighting seasons, sustainable raw material choices and beautifully finished dishes. We will develop meeting and banquet menus, add vegetarian and vegan options, and introduce new products to the à la carte restaurants, such as sourdough pizzas and classic dishes with a fresh twist. The aim is to offer customers a comprehensively better dining experience and raise the food offering in all the venues to a new level,” says Sami Toijanen, Kitchen Manager at Restel’s Food&Events Tapahtumaravintolat.

Nelson Mandela at Paasiravintola

The most famous guest in Paasiravintola’s history is probably Nelson Mandela, for whom a banquet was held in the venue in 1992. Today, Paasiravintola serves as a restaurant for events held in Paasitorni, hosting events such as the annual Pääsiäispunk and Rockabilly Xmas.
