Fast, streamlined and friendly
The Finnish Psychiatric Association has been holding its twice yearly psychiatrists’ conference at Paasitorni for the past ten years. This professional event attracts about 350 participants and an extensive exhibition is also held in conjunction with the event. Almost all the space in the building is used for the event.

A congress centre on a human scale
Kongressitoimisto Tavicon Oy has been successfully arranging international congresses and national events at Paasitorni since the late 1990s. “The premises have undergone thorough renovation and have been painstakingly restored. Practicality is an absolute requirement but well-travelled guests from around the world also value the beautiful historic setting which is out of the ordinary compared with the standard model of conference hotel,” says managing director Anja Hakkarainen.
Hakkarainen has seen Paasitorni develop into one of the leading conference centres in Finland. “We eagerly await the opening of the individually designed hotel, Scandic Paasi, and the new conference rooms and restaurants as these will see Paasitorni grow into a unique congress centre encompassing all the services under one roof.”
Anja Hakkarainen is convinced that strong growth and extending Paasitorni will not come at the expense of quality and first-class service. “Streamlined service and staff who have really taken on board the importance of customer service are Paasitorni’s biggest trump card. Contract customers
Finnish bank Nordea Pankki Suomi Oyj discovered Paasitorni in 2007, when the building was used for the first time for a management training course for 250 people spanning several days. The positive experience of the organisers and the feedback gained from participants regarding the conference and the restaurant services encouraged the company to hold more training courses and other events at Paasitorni in the future.
Cooperation between Paasitorni and Nordea has been strengthened in the form of a contract customer relationship. The number of events Nordea has organised at Paasitorni has grown considerably and concentrating on this venue has brought Nordea benefits on price and conditions.
